Think about Daniel when he rejected the food of the king in Daniel 1:8 KJV:īut Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Regardless of what obstacles have been set in your path, following God's plan helps you find hope in a dark place. Or it could be being tempted by the devil. It can mean going into the wilderness and not knowing what will happen. Walking by faith can be really hard at times. And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: And in their hands, they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. If thou, therefore, wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me and to whomsoever, I will I give it. And the devil, taking him up into a high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it is made bread. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. Think of the Temptations of Jesus in Luke 4:1-13 KJV:Īnd Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. On your life journey, you might experience persecution, trials, and pain. So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. In Genesis 12:1-4 KJV, Abraham was told to follow God: But you will obey God in what He tells you. Walking by faith, not by sight requires you to walk in obedience to God. When you obey God, you will travel the path where God has meant for you to walk. You will see miracles everywhere when you begin to live by faith. It is a journey that opens up your heart. It is a journey that allows you to fully experience God. It means experiencing the journey that God has in store for you without holding onto all the control. It means trusting God will move mountains in your life with you lifting a finger. Walking by faith requires you to give up control of your life. However, doing it is much easier said than done. On the surface, walking by faith means that we should simply have faith in God as you live your life.
